As coronavirus cases rage throughout the United States, news of the effectiveness of vaccine candidates provides hope. But questions remain about vaccine distribution and the hesitancy or refusal by some to take the vaccine once it is available. Sociological research has found that decisions about vaccine refusal are complex and can stem from individualistic attitudes.
